l have a 10 gallon tank l just got from somebody. l wanna put my two betta

using that as a divider. It wedged it short ways in the tank, it fit and

mostly stayed so l packing taped it above the water line. It was not
perfectly sealing off both sides after l added the water since there was
nothing holding it down at the bottom. l only added the one fish to see if
he could escape, and he did.
does anyone have any suggestions
for making a divider?

get suction cups for the sides, they usually have slits down

razor to make a slit yourself (carefully of course!)
